Terms of Service

Terms of service for oJoyFul Fursuits

Please take the time to read over the terms of service before ordering a commissioned piece

By making your first payment you are thereby accepting these terms of service.

I will only accept people over the age of 18+ to enter an agreement with me. I may ask for evidence to prove your age such as a photographic driving licence, passport etc

I reserve the right to decline service to anyone who is unable to provide these upon request. Please understand that this is nothing personal, it is to ensure that I am working within the law of my country.

Quotes

Quotes are purely a price estimate based in your requests, character design and fur options. Quotes are none binding.

I will need up to 2 or more clear original character reference sheets. Please provide specific references for the suit to make the process more streamlined. All details must be clear and easy to read.

If you request a quote and I do not contact you back to provide one this would mean I do not currently have availability to work on your piece and therefore you were unsuccessful in obtaining a slot.

If you quote is successful and an agreement has been reached. A slot will be made and I will provide you a brief status of my work and an ETA. If from this you are happy with the terms, we can agree on proceeding to invoicing.

I do not copy, recreate or emulate other artists styles or costumes. Every artist is different and unique. I would hope that you are requesting my commissions based of own merit. I am open to looking at references purely for the technicals if the written request is not clear.

Prices are subject to change between commission periods however this will not affect any quoted made prior to the change.

You are welcome to contact me through Twitter or Instagram for quote however you do have the option to look at my pricing guide.

Ordering

Please be aware that when you order handmade, one of a kind costumes there may and can contain imperfections, flaws and inconsistencies.

Your commission must be accepted from me before the start of the ordering process. The best way for a quote to be made and for this to be accepted is for your concept artwork of your character to be clear and you need to know exactly what you want.

Changes to the character can be up until the work begins and this can be subject to a change in price due to extra labour. This can prolong your time in the queue and if the request is for a complete character re-design then a new quote would then need to be made before being accepted again, a new invoice would also be provided. I ask that you as my customer are 100 percent clear on what you want before ordering. This saves your time and my time.

Payment

GBP currency only. Paypal is the current preferred method of payment.

Please remember to select “Pay for Goods and Services” when making a payment to oJoyFul Fursuits.

A 30% NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is required to confirm your place in the commission queue. NO EXCEPTIONS - If you decide to cancel during any point of the process, you will lose your deposit!

You must make this 30% payment to confirm your commission spot. I will not being holding ot reserving any commission spots without payment.

This payment must be made within 14 days of receiving your invoice to secure your slot in the queue and show your investment in my work and your project. You would also need to have the reserves to make payments. Failure to meet his deadline will result in your transaction being voided.

You can make payments of £100 minimum a month in a discussed payment plan that both parties agree on.Payment plans do not account for the required 30% deposit and only reflects the remaining 70% of the total.

If you are paying off via payment plan - details and fur ordering can proceed after at least 50% of the suit has been paid for including deposit.

NO physical work is started on your suit until the suit is 80-90% paid off, including deposit.

For smaller commissions (such as just hand-paws or tails) a payment is required in full before work can be started due to the cost of ordering materials. No refund options are available for fursuit parts.

All agreed quoted prices on fursuits and parts commissions DO NOT include shipping costs.

If your suit is being worked on and you begin to miss payments when your suit is nearing completion, your suit will be put on hold for 30 days until you are caught up on payments. At the end of the 30 day period the situation will be reviewed and the commission might be cancelled. If the project is cancelled you will lose the 30% deposit plus the cost of any materials used and labour costs. I will then have the right to sell your piece.

If you refuse to pay any outstanding balance on your invoice, your suit will remain in my possession until the balance is paid. If there is still a refusal of payment within 30 days of the suit being completed, your commission will be dropped and I will use my authority to make decisions on the project from there on out - including selling the suit on with minor alterations as an auction piece.

Deadlines

I do not take serious deadlines for projects and I will not be swayed on this the form of a bribe. I cannot guarantee that the completion date is absolute, I will provide completion estimates.

Personal and professional situations can arise such as illness, machine issues etc.

As an artist I want to take the time to ensure that my work at the highest quality that I can provide and I will take my time on each commission. If there are any issues that affect your directly then you will be informed if this.

Failure to complete payments or provide answers to questions along with items that have been requested can also cause delays.

Shipping and postage

UK/Mainland shipping will be mainly done through Royal Mail.

I am currently not offering international shipping at this stage however this is still subject to change.

Shipping costs will be calculated before shipping and failure to provide the shipping payment will result in your costume being held until shipping has been paid for.

Repairs

On occasion there maybe a fault with the suit upon arrival. I will accept fault with this and will provide a fix. Please inform me of any issues with the suit upon arrival.

Your suit will wear over time such as any piece of clothing. Small repairs can easily be fixed by yourself or a local tailor.

Larger repairs and modifications to suits made by me (and only me) will be reviewed on a case by case basis. Please be aware that modifications may incur a charge due to parts and labour required for this. I may ask for pictures of the suit to assess the damage and strain you can put it under. YOU WILL COVER RETURN SHIPPING. The suit needs to be CLEAN before I even consider repairing. Any odours, stains, soiled parts, extreme disrepair on the suits will be sent back without hesitation and you will be instructed to clean the suit or I have the right to refuse any repairs.

If your suit has been altered by yourself or someone else this will void all repairs.

Measurements

As I am currently on making partial suits I would not require a DTD (Duct tape dummy) so the only measurements I will require are head circumference, forehead to chin, arm sleeves and feet size

Performance

Wearing a giant animal costume impairs vision and hearing. You can overheat, your dexterity will be lowered. This is obviously all for fun. I am not responsible for any form of injury that may happen while in costume. Wear at your own risk.

Allergy warning

The fur used in faux (fake) however there are animals on premises. Although the best care if taken while your costume is being made, I cannot guarantee that it will be allergen free.
